ecm number?

Engine: 3.1 V6

ecm number?

how do i find out what type of ecm i have? i would like to do some data logging and maybe start tuning later on. I have a 3.1 v6 are the ALDL cables the same for me as it is for the tbi guys and stuff. also will the ecm852 program work with my ecm? if not what can i do?

Your ECM is a 1227730, same as the '90-92 TPI cars. This means you can use the same interface cable as they do. However, since it is a different mask (the firmware) the ecm852 program will not work.

For now go over to the V6 board and look for posts by Pasky. He is working on a V6 scan tool software for the laptop. He has some versions out there for testing.

Give TunerPro RT a shot. I'd be curious to know if it works with your application. I think I included a V6 '7730 definition in the download (if not, PM me and I'll send it to you).
