This just isn't working...

I started the Jeep engine today and I did a LITTLE tuning. I have done just about everything I can and I am about to look for a new BIN to start from. The ANLU bin is just not a good one for my engine...or maybe it's me that's not good for my engine.
Anyway, I have an 8746 ECM ($61) and the ANLU bin right now running an AMC 360 with a lot of mods. Anyone got a suggestion for a better bin to start with?

Not too sure where you are at now, tuning wise. When it comes to engines such as yours (and other combo's) there is no good starting bin. The reason is that there are no engines that are similar enough to what these engines are.

The two biggest (bad grammer) areas are spark and fueling. For spark just put together something that looks like a vacuum/centrifugal distributor advance. This is a good start.

Then for fueling (VE table) start at idle and low speeds, collect data and adjust. Then idle around the neighborhood and get more data (at higher MAP and RPM) and adjust(the VE table).

Do this at normal engine operating temperatures. This is important as the engine needs to be up to temperature. If need be just let the engine run in the driveway until up to temperature. Then start collecting data. It isn't unusual to run the car up and down the drive to rough in the initial calibration.

I would make sure oyur injector constant (or flow setting) is right on. Doulble check that your injectors are what you think they are ,as far as, flow rating.

You know, I did change the BPW to 120 (from 128), but could that small of a change have effected that much of a difference on the overall scheme of things?
So, basically, I am on my own. Okay...I can handle that. I guess it'll mean that I just have to learn more about the ECM and its programming.
I am about to hit the hay...I pulled a TF999 tranny out of another Jeep today, replaced the front pump lip seal (converter seal) and put it back in...then found ANOTHER leak in one of the cooler lines as we were firing it up. Thank Gd for engine cranes. I got a new one today and it worked like a champ! Anyway...beers to all!
Hasta manana!

Also when Ive had problems with how my motors ran, like backfires and stumbles, its turned out to be vacuum leaks every time.
