auto prom datalogging, tuner pro
auto prom datalogging, tuner pro
Just got the autoprom yesterday and started using it today and i have a problem. After going thru the installation of the autoprom and setting the switches on the back i cant get the datalogging section of tunerpro to display any data under the sensor section or the bit section. It connects to the ecm, but still shows no info in the sensor and bit section. I have no problem intializing and uploading the bin to emulate, but i cant get any info for datalogging. Any ideas on what is going on or what i might be doing wrong? thanks
yes, they are for sure. im going to talk to craig this weekend and get this figured out. After that, ill try and help everyone get started with the autoprom that runs into problems. Ill post when i find out what i was doing wrong.

Its connecting?
You're using a 165, right? And so you're ussing the 165-6E definition included in TunerPro? This is an 8192 baud definition, and therefore requires the "vertical" switch in its' top-most position, and the if using the AutoProm in software mode, the horizontal switch should be towards the Serial Port connector and you should have the AutoProm selected as the aldl interface type in the preferences.
If using it in pass-through mode, it should be away from the serial port (and you should select "Max232" in the "aldl interface" in preferences.
Out of curiosity, what are your system specs? and what OS? Do oyu have the riched20.dll installed (available from the tunerpro app download page)?
Try in both modes (software and pass-through) and see what you get.
My car has a '165, so needless to say this setup is well tested. =)

im running on windows 98, dont know the specs off hand, but the laptop is slow and old. I do have the riced 20 dill installed and it does work in pass thru mode. i can use moates software to do stand alone datalogging. i just could not get it to emulate and datalog at the same time. It did connect, just would not display any info under the sensors and bit page next to the setup page.

Its fixed! It was a problem with my windows 98 o.s. I had to unzip the riched 20 dil file into the tuner pro aldl datastreams folder to get my tuner pro rt to work properly. It was not a problem with the tuner pro RT, it was a problem with my laptop wanting the file in a different location. The auto prom is fantastic to work with and the learning curve is not to bad to get the hang of. Big props to craig and mark for there support! They were on top of the issue and helped me fix it asap!

I am having the same trouble with a Win98 machine. You put the riched32.dll in the Datastreams folder within TunerPro RT? I may have to try that one.
