lt1 intake coolant port location

I have searched the boards thoroughly looking for a definitive answer on the best place to tap the LT1 intake for coolant ports. I was looking for the best place in terms of cooling only, and don't care about the TB interference problems.
Grumpy says in a post that tapping off the rear of the intake is bad. Swapmaster says that it is better for cooling if tapped off the rear in another post. Both are smart guys. Who is correct? Neither posts why they say this.
Is there a thread that discusses this? Any help is appreciated.

tap and Y the front two to the thermostat like the stock SBC setup.. if you want you can tap the pass side rear for the heater core like my cars stock setup... or you can T off of the front nipple line and run it that way.

I see what you are saying about running the coolant that way. John shows a picture that taps off of the front of the intake, but is now tapping off the rear. So the picture is out of date.
