Another interesting find

I just updated the AutoProm firmware to V2.0 and read the OEM chip from my old 8746 ($61) ECM. (It worked like a charm...) Then I compared it to the ANLU bin that was supposed to be in the chip. Guess what...it wasn't even CLOSE to a match.

Try burning a known chip with a known .bin.
Then read that .bin with your cable.

Then compare the two to make sure, you've got everything right.

You want to make sure everything is perfect before you rely on anything.

Okay...I set the two up as compare BINs and found out that they were NOT different. It seems that there was an offset or something (not a hex offset...something else) that was in one of them and not in the other. It was an undefined value. I clipped it out and the values pretty much lined up until I got to the VE and SA tables...then the differences were readily apparent. The ANLU BIN I was originally SUPPOSED to have in that 8746 ($61) has fuel tables completely different from those in the ANLU BIN I got from DIY-EFI. The SA tables are likewise different. The biases and constants are all pretty much the same AFAICT, but the REAL differences are in the SA and VE (1 and 2) tables.
I can't do screen shots for some reason, but I can email the BINs or even an Excel file if anyone wants to give them a look-see.
