High map Idle tuning?

My current map at park/idle would be 55-65 kpa.

In gear, it's 70-80. I need a looser converter to help with this as is with the carb. My current is a 2k TCI. But I have a 700 going together that would require about half of my efi budget to get completed. Need a converter$$, drive shaft and both planetaries. So the trans is in savings purgatory for the time being. Or my EFI will be...

So, can a SD be tuned for that high of map? Tips for initial tables values?

Vac advance?.
Is it plugged into the manifold or timed port?.

With EFI you can generally do alot more tuning at idle then with a carb., and that might help with those MAP numbers. Not to mention things like the butterfly to transfer slot alignment.

If nothing else, just running an open loop chip would probably make you more then happy.

Walking in cold to EFI with that big of cam is yes, going to be a steep learning curve. And it will be frustrating, but once you get the knack of it, and if your selection of parts is good, I'm sure you'll be happy.

Thanks Grump.

I'm going to enjoy pulling some timing out for < 50% TPS in the 1800-2500 rpm range. Pesky cross walk lines..
