Alternately, you can a search on Steve Ruse. He offers a serial interface. Moates offers a USB aldl interface (no need for a USB converter).

Also, Andrew Mattei makes cables.

Lots of options, all of which can be found with a search.

Is that site even still up and running. I mean I went to the site, but I got the vibe that the business is no longer running.

sure is . . .i received my cable 2 weeks ago.

It was too short for any practical use, it was barely long enough to sit the laptop on my lap in the drivers seat . . .I spliced in a good 5 foot of 24? gauge auto wire a few inches before the serial connector. . . .works just fine. The wires are bare (save a few small pieces of electrical tape), so i wrapped them with a length of 1/4" convoluted tubing.

I went to Comp USA and bought an extension for it. I think the mouse extensions work.

Yup, definitely still up and running. He's a nice guy to deal with. The problem is the cable will work well for WinALDL but will not work for Moates software. Building your own is probably the best option.

As Mangus says try Moates for offers a USB aldl interface. His site is at www.moates.net

Here is a link to Andrew Mattei's AKMCables site http://www.akmcables.com/

Various ebay sellers have them also and have quite competetive prices dependent on demand.
