Ok i have a 85 Z28 its got a 350TPI in it running a 165 ECM and MAF the previous owner destroyed the TPI setup threads a stripped plenum is all cross threaded its pretty much junk.... i was given a TPI set up out of a 92 SD 305.

I need to put this on my car because the motor is just sitting with a plastic bag on it outside under my hood. i know i need to reuse my injectors from my 350 setup my other problem is the 9th injector if i use the entire 92 setup cant just leave it like it is, i do not have the equipment to program my own chips is there any other way of getting rid of the 9th injector in my ECM. Can i get an aftermarket chip (i know its not worth it this is just to get the car running) or can i grab one outa a 89-90 MAF car where there is no 9th injector... or can someone just help me out and burn me a chip i know im not suppose to begging i just dont want to lose the 4grand worth of motor work that i just had done.

The easiest way to deal with this is to use your fuel rails runners and injectors. Then the 9th can go with. Otherwise you need a non-vats 89 PROM which I think will be aftermarket.

Im replacing everything lower intake, runners, plenum and fuel rails... i mean this guy hacked up every thread on this thing... so i need a 89 non VATS chip??? sorry kinda clueless with this stuff

will a crappy hypertech chip work?
also will the car even start with the CSI unplugged?

 

Put the whole '92 TPI setup on, purchase from GM a MEMCAL for a '89 350 TPI w/auto, then get a VATS eliminator from a place such as Jags-that-run.

It is well worth learning how to tune by buurning your own PROMS.
