Will this work on piggy-back memcal setups?
I'm in the process of gathering the gear necessary to read and program my own chip for my 383 Super Ram setup. I've already bought Datamaster.
As far as programmers and editors go, will they work to read the current setup (BIN) off a piggyback chip setup? When I say "piggyback setup" I mean one where someone sends you a chip board that you plug into your ECM and then plug your original memcal into the board they sent you. If possible, I want to see the spark and fuel tables currently being used as a starting point to doing my own.
Have a Great Day!!!

As you read through that, make sure you click on the links showing pictures of the various adapters.

Start with the above link: I have had good experience using the Moates software (ver 8.50 or 8.51) to "pull" the bin through the ALDL and "dump" it into an actual bin file.
I had ordered a chip from Fastchips (Ed Wright) and wanted to use it as a base for my own tuning.
I believe that is what you want to do, but I am not sure if the Moates will pull through the piggyback adaptor....

It shows a method for reading a stock memcal.
If you want to read what's in the chip on a piggyback adapter, just mount it the same way.
I've never tried dumping one with Moates.

88TPI406GTA is pretty close on what I want to do...
What I'm actually wanting to do to help learn and better understand this whole process is to watch what Jeremy Formato does and changes (and try to understand why) as he fine tunes his custom prom for 383 SuperRam setup. Figure watching an "expert" is the best way to better understand it all. Since I'll have the Datamaster files (I bought it last week to do the logs for Jeremy to use for prom adjustments), I think all I need to do is see what he changes and then understand (or ask him) what a particular change did or does.
I'll look into the link again (did it earlier) and see if I can see where/how to pull the BIN through the ALDL to create a BIN file to look at in TunerPro. I didn't see it the 1st time, maybe I'll see it after looking again. I'm hoping not to have to buy a programmer (or the Prominator) just yet.
Have a Great Evening!
