Another silly basic question
Another silly basic question
As y'all know, I'm trying to to learn this chip burning process. I've been doing a lot of data logging and working with Brian at TBI chips to get a chip burnt to get my Holley 670 CFM TBI to work correctly. We are just about there but I'm a bit confused about some of the ALDL sensor readings. I've learned where the BLM numbers should be, but I'm totally lost on some of the other readings.
Before I start attempting to burn my own chips (read that really screwing things up) I need a base line of what these readings should be. Specifically, the MAP, O2, and KNOCK COUNT readings. I appologise if this is already posted, but a search didn't turn up what I need.
TIA

MAP will change depending on altitude and how much throttle is depressed.
Knock Counts well the less the better and if you experience 0 knock counts while you drive under different loads etc then that is optimal.
O2 voltage will vary. If at WOT it should be at its highest(900mv+ and it should hold at this level), while driving it should fluctuate between 100mv (it does drop under 100mv also in certain conditions) and 900mv.
Hope that helps somewhat maybe someone else will give you a better description.

MAP varies by engine combo., you have to note what your's is.
O2 is about useless other then seeing if it's alive, since it normally toggles for rich to lean. All you can really tell at WOT using the stock O2 is that it's richer then 14.7.. Knock count can vary, it's degrees of knock you want to be real concerned with.
The best thing to do is dive in. Make small changes and take notes, that'll get you further faster then having someone guess from an emil what they need to do.
