EPROMMER help

If I get one of the bigger 256 chips from the Moates website (my ECM came with a 27C128), how do get the buffer to start at $4000 or whatever the value is to make it use the correct (upper) adresses on the chip?

Also, my EPROMMER has the 29C256 chip in the device list, but there is a N/A next to it... anyone else have this, and if so how did you get it to work? My board says EPROMMER 6 on the bottom and I have the newest software... do any of you guys with the EPROMMER have experience with this?

Also, even though my board says 6 and my software is 6, it says it finds EPROMMER 5 on the port test. Does this happen to anyone else?

Thanks
Kurt

There's a little file you have to download from the eprommer site to get the AT29C256 capability. You'll see it there....it's "epromer5n.exe". Follow the instructions.

Eprommer 6 software will not program a 29c256 currently. You must use the earlier eprommer 5 software.

Also.. the eprommer software does not have the ability to change the starting address of the burn.. I have asked repeatedly for this change but they have yet to add it.

If you have a 16K bin, double it up by either going to a C: prompt and

Copy /b xxx.bin + xxx.bin 2xx.bin

which will double your bin to 32K.

or better yet use TunerPro's bin stacker.. BW

TunerPro...is that free? I have seen reference to it but not much else. I suspect its designed to be used for TPI F and Y cars, and if that's the case, I wouldn't feel right droppin the dough on it. Heck, I can't even find anything (short of a GM Tech 1) that can read my ALDL (1227748 (P4) ECM, $48 mask, ADSJ broadcast, 1987 TBI A car)!

Yes it's free, the RT version is also free, tho a $30 registration is kindly asked for.

Go poking around the TunerPro website, I bet that there maybe everything you would need (like a .ECU file and aldl info) or at worst if you ask nicely Mangus willhelp you if needed. (Hes a stand up guy). BW
