Eprommer 5

Does anyone here use the EPROMMER 5? If so, how would you rate it (Ease of use, compatibility, etc)? Is it a quality product? Are there some tricks to using it?

Thanks
Kurt

I have it. Its OK so far but I am still new to prom burning. The software has come a long way in just a short time. I argued to no end with those people about not being able to burn an F040 chip. They claimed there was no problem, and I claimed there was. They finally came up with an answer- add a capacitor to my board, and voila- it works. It was tough dealing with them through this problem, but all is well now. It seems that during my problem there were like 4 new software versions sent to me- that were not publicly available. Maybe they are now- I dont know. If I didnt already own one, I would probably just buy Craig Moates burner. At least his support is top notch.

Ive got one and it works fine....once you get the hang of it. It's instructions are not the best and the menu system is not intuitive. Also, there is a little note that says not to plug your device in while a little red light is on. Pay attention to that one. It eats your eprom otherwise.

I fried a couple of chips before i read the instructions about how to install the chip in the socket and don't put the chip in until you have selected the proper devise. (that determines the voltage) I've had mine about a year and a half and I'm happy with it.

I have one too. It works well. I haven't had any trouble out of it. Do pay attention to the directions like everyone else said. I went through probably about 4 chips in my early "learning curve."
I bought mine before Craig came out with his, if I was to buy one now I would probably go through Craig. He's a great guy with by far the best support.
