got a question about custom chips

i dont know much about them. but i was wondering what kind of benifits do they provide? like would they do anything for me, my car is stock except for K&N and flowmaster. its a 91 z28 with a 305/700r4. thanks for any help.

You're not likely to get a good response from this (I'm assuming you're aware of the 'DIY' in the title of this forum). The general consensus is burn your own chips. Doing so can net you considerably more than a "custom" (which actually isn't custom at all) chip.

Or maybe I misread your question? Are you asking what benefits can be had from burning your own "custom" chip? If thats the question, with your mods you'll likely see little change. If you swapped injectors or made other more serious mods (heads, cam, etc), then DIY-PROM can net you some serious driveability and power increases in conjunction with these mods.
