i just read a thread that the 165 can be changed to the 808 code to use a map and all that stuff ..(real interresting except for the 160 baud and metric ecu) my question is if the ecm only sees ( or uses ) the voltage from the maf to calculate the calibration, why do you need the 808 code to decipher the voltage from the map instead of just the basic 165 masks seeing the map voltage?

if this has been beaten to death in another thread im sorry--just havent happened past it just yet..

WOT with the MAF you get a voltage that increases with RPM because it measures air flow.

WOT with MAP you get 5 volts instantly, and it does not change with RPM.

To mimic a MAF signal using a MAP you have to multiply the MAP voltage with an RPM signal. This will not be exact, but you will get a signal similar to tha MAF signal.

I have gone thru the 808 ecu and converted all the metric stuff to what we're used to. I'm about 99% sure it's accurate

Shoot me an email and I'll send it to you if you're interested.

Everything is in there still except the shift light and manual trans stuff. If you want that you'd have to add it back in.

it figures it would work out that way ...i was thinking that the vacum dropped kinda linear when the throttle blades being opened..( i really wouldnt thinking of snaping the throttle open/ well maybe once in a while, he he )---hey onebinky i emailed ya to send me the file you updated hope to get it soon to check it out ---if the maf ever dies its that or repin to a 730 or 727
