Burning with Linux?
Are the resources available for PROM burning with linux?
That includes all software and hardware?
How about USB compatible?

not that i have come across. . . the usual respose from the developers runs along these lines :
"if you would like to pay me by the hour for porting out to unix - i would gladly spend the time. However, for the one or two people in the community its just not worth it when there are plenty of good windows emulators for mac and unix out there."
let us know if you do find anything available.
As far as the USB compatible -- thats merely as RS232 converter, more commonly a serial to USB port. Can be had in any computer store as cheap as a few bucks.

I'm working on 2 projects right now.
1) Cross platform editing software. It's 50% done. If there are any C++ devels wanting to help, let me know. It uses wxWindows, so it will work on Linux, Unix, Mac OSX, Windows, Palm, etc.
2) AT29C256 burner that will interface through the serial port and probably use an AVR to do the actual programming. Very early stage and I doubt I'll have time before the new year to work on it. Since it goes through the serial port, it'll be easy to write programs for whatever platform you want... iPaqs, etc.

I don't do GUI stuff, mainly backend, crunching, network coding.

I'd think that a x-platform editing package would require a minimal amount of UI Design and packaging. Unless you were intending to tackle 3D charting and navigation.

The way things are going, I'll probably do a v0.01 release in November.
