Newbie questions..

Okay, I just got all my stuff in for scanning and burning chips finally. I'm using a Willem PCB3 programmer. I think I got a good read after messing around with the programmer a little bit. The coolant fans come on at 226 and go off at like 220, and that sounds reasonable for a stock setup, so I'm guessing the read went pretty good.

I have an '88 Trans Am 305ci TPI with automatic trans and A/C (but I removed the A/C). The first thing I noticed when going between the $32B and the $6E ECU files is that the $6E seems to have a LOT more I can change in TunerPro, but the values are off of course because my chip is a $32B. Can I convert to a $6E BIN with just a flash and no re-pinning?

Or...how do I change all the EGR and highway mode stuff in a $32B BIN with TunerPro? The "32bv001.ecu" is the right file right?

Sorry if any of these questions are stupid or have been answered. I tried to search a little bit, but I'm not quite used to searching in the PROM board (different terms, etc.)..

All you have to do to convert to a $6E is Find a Bin to start with (manual or Auto) Unplug the Wiring Harness to the Cold Start Injector. Disable VATS if you vechicle dosen't Have VATS and Set you Injectors to the correct size. and Burn the Prom and Off ya go.

I don't think I forgot anything

Thanks a lot, I'll look around for a $6E BIN.

Is the $6E BIN any more aggressive than the $32B (stock for stock), or is it just more tuneable?

Okay, I found one, and it doesn't appear to be any more radical really. I found one for an '89 305TPI auto that was converted from a 5spd BIN. Should this be good enough? I'll look at it later when I get off work to see if there's any difference in the timing/fuel curves at all.

First, always start with the closest factory app to your application.

If u have auto use the latest auto bin, manual, use the latest manual bin. start with factory and work from there. Lots of bins floating around from clueless people and/or stuff that just wont work with your combo or could harm it.

Bring your laptop and stuff with u t-nite to miami subs and i will take a look at it with you .

Even got a few cool things i can show you

later

Alright, got it running $6E with my first chip burn

Used the APYM BIN from DIY-EFI
Disconnected cold start valve/injector
Disabled VATS (well, turned the flag off at least..is that disabling it? )
