key on 3rd gear request/limp mode start
I got tunerpro working, hallelujia!!!! The issue now is that there is TRUE for 3rd gear flag with the key on. I am pretty sure this is why the car is starting in limp mode. '87 t/a 165 ecm and 6e ARAP bin...What might cause this??
Thanks,
Chris

Pull the pin at the ECM connector to check if there's a short in the wiring harness somewhere. A short would still show up with the trans unplugged......
If you don't have a wiring diagram for the car get one, you'll need it. In the meantime PM Trickster or post on the electronics board, he's always putting wiring diagrams up for people.

It appears that there was nothing wrong. It was just a matter of getting the program to connect. Usually takes me about 10 times or so and all this while trying to reload tunerpro, unplug and then plug the cable in...what a pain. I like to program, but it's really hard trying to get it connected. It looks as if there is no specific order of plugging in the cable and relaunching the program...
