I need someone to help me design a bin for my car
I am building a 355 Chevy TPI engine for my '66 Chevy Panel Truck. I have found someone on ebay willing to burn a chip for $10 but I am required to send him a bin file to burn to it. The setup I have is highly modified and I have absolutely no idea where to start. The setup is as follows: '90 350 Chevy block bored .030 over, stock crank, 6" rods, hypereutectic pistons @10.2:1 compression, GM Performance Fastburn heads, Scoggin Dickey Vortec TPI base(hand port matched), LT4 Hotcam(roller), 1.6:1 roller rockers, double roller timing set, fluid filled damper, 30# FMS injectors, SLP runners(hand port matched with about an inch of siamese wall removed), hand ported and matched stock plenum, 58 mm Holley throttle body, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, MSD 6AL ignition, Accel ignition coil and, 727 corvette computer. The truck weighs 200# more than my '91 Formula (about 3700#), 3.73 gears, Eaton posi-trac, 25" diameter tires, newly rebuilt 700r4 tranny. I know this is alot to ask for someone to help with but i truly don't know where to start. I have tried to get a grasp of what is discussed in these forums but i feel like a child tryin to read Greek. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

The only way your going to get the right chip for that combo is doing one yourself.
Start with reading and rereading the stickies at the top of the list. All the basics are covered there. Once you get that done, you'll find some good advise from the folks around here to get her dialed in.

A good place to start will be which ecu you are planning on using - '165 (MAF) or '730 (MAP)?
I'd recommend a '730 based setup, myself, for that motor

I am the one posting on ebay. Before everyone freaks out, I am not offering a custom tune, I am offering to burn a their file to my chip and mail it out. Im doing this to raise some extra cash and clear out my extra 27C256's.
I fully understand that no mail order chip is perfect, and I am not creating or selling one. I am offering links to software (not selling those either- I wrote I would direct anyone who asked) so people could create their own bin's, then email it to me and I will mail them a chip, for $4 opening bid with free shipping (cont. US). I put a buy it now of $10 because I dont want anyone bidding higher than that.
These people would have to modify their own bin file using whatever editor they choose, and send it to me to burn. I am not directly tuning anyones car, just providing a chip and the use of my programmer.
4mula91- you will still need to learn to tune and to compensate for your changes, which will include datalogging your current setup. You can learn alot on these pages, it just takes time. Keep reading. Downloading some software and playing with it will help you understand what you are reading. Buying what I am selling wont help you figure it out, it will just help you get it from your home computer to your ECM.

let me clarify things
I will say specifically what i meant by my first post. I have no idea what info will do me any good right now. The most helpful thing someone can do is show me all the values of the bin on a stock chip, then provide information as to what values need to be changed for certain conditions.... like a direct comparison between a stock TPI setup and a modified one. It wouldnt even have to be accurate changes, just an explanation for changes to certain values.

You are asking for too much, IMO. This is a DIY tech board. Not many folks here will help you , but you can try. If you just browse the posts here or do a seach, you will be amazed at what you can learn.

4mula91,
I would really like to know how that thing runs! I'm running pretty much the same setup, but until I get the $$$ for the intake, I'm running a carb. I was considering the SDPC Vortec base, but I think the combo would be much better with the GM RamJet intake.
I would be interested in hearing how things go for you with tuning (I'm sure you'll need lot's!)

again to explain further
i dont think i am asking much at all. simply put, if someone has already completed a fully functioning bin for their combo, i would appreciate them showing me what was changed and why. that would give me a starting point of understanding. i hope this simplifies things. thanks

How many spare 27C256s do you have? My burner doesn't offset and I don't know the good "tricks" to stack bins. I would love to have a few spare 27C256s to tweak a couple annoying little things about my 1989 Olds Touring Sedan's powertrain. ('253 ECM) It seems they didn't spend too much time tuning the TCC lockup at 70+, which I assume is because those speeds were illegal back then anyway.

4mula91,
To understand what is changed and why you first undestand the systems basic operation sensors and controls.
There is alot of info here on the that to start with.
http://www.chevythunder.com
Then you must decide if you're using a MAF or SD system.
The 730 as Doward suggested may work well for what you have but it is a personal decision you need to make after looking into the options. The 90-92 SD systems running on the 730 use an AUJP bin for the 700R4 auto trans. There are many threads concerning that BCC.
Under the stickies you will find a wealth of information as to what and why things are changed. Then when you hit the "grey" areas that are not specifically addressed there are many people that can offer assistance. Not many here can just answer the whole list of items that can be changed and why for every motor combination.
Although there are some "superior intellects" :hail: that will help you get close to your goal.
