DIY Bin Switcher?

Searched here.. searched syty.net... dug around diy-efi.org a bit.. came up fairly dry... enough info to do a week's worth of basic electronics research and produce one.. but on the chance I can save myself the time: Does anyone know where one could find schematics and/or a decent explination of how to build a bin switcher?

If you haven't done so yet, check this out. http://www.moates.net/gmecm/switchin.html . No schematic but very good info. Enough to come up with a design. All that is needed is to switch the high order address lines to switch "banks" of memory. A hex rotary switch from Digi-Key would work well. HTH

Edit: Also found this. ftp://ftp.diy-efi.org/pub/gmecm/projects/6in1.gif

I'd use this guidance as well:

- Use pretty good pullups (1k-10k)
- Use some noise reduction if you're planning to use an extension cable (0.1uF parallel caps or something)

Thanks for the advice, Craig... otherwise, looks like I finally have to sit down and learn more of the inner workings of solid state electronics. Ahh well. knew it would happen eventually

(I understand the basic concept of manually controlling the upper address lines... it's doing so without releasing clouds of expensive japanese smoke that nags at me )

No guts, no glory, The chip smoke is one thing, but there's nothing as refreshing as a varnished wood desk top, that's smoldering. Power MOSFETs, do need heatsinks, BTW....

This might help in building the BIN switcher.
