ECM582 Nitrous Runs
I did some runs early with my 91 Z28. I hear some pinging at higher RPM but I did not see it in the logs. I am running stock timing and stock plugs. I plan to retard the timing and go colder on the plugs. I am running a MSD activation that comes on at 3000 rpm and shuts off at 5200. Did I miss something in the logs?Any help would be helpful. Thanks, BranZ

If your knock sensor is working then you should have seen it in the logs. Your ecm should have "heard" the knock way before you did and yanked a bunch of timing out. On a scale of 1-10 audible knock is a 9 or 10, your ecm hears 2's and 3's. At least thats what I'v been told. I'v mistaken knock for an exhaust leak more than once.

Knock sensors are for detonation, they can be totally blind to preignition.
