I am totally confused!!

Hey all. I was wondering if someone could tell me what I need to program chips. I was reading the article by Trax and started to look for winbin made a post and was told that I should not use it anymore. I was told to us RT. When I downloaded the program and installed it and when I turned it on it started looking for the romulator. I don't know what that was. Please someone help.
Just a list of **** would be great. Thanks

I was planning on using the Prominator, Winbin,

I know that I need a aldl cable and winaldl

then I was going to use tunercat and the prominator.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Have you been here yet? http://www.moates.net/

I went with his adapters and BURN1 programmer, it was the most cost effective option for me, along with using TunerPro. No emulation, no RT, no bells and whistles, but works fine for my application.

Scan tool selection is up to you I guess, I already had one from my GN that works for my Corvette too, Turbo-link.

Yes, winaldl is a DOS version IIRC. There are countless others that work with windows and have more features as well.

i use tunercat RT. when i connect it looks for romulator. simply cancel. it then stops searching and works as a basic emulator(i thnk it is called). romulator allows changes in the bin that are held temporairily in the rom(i think this is correct). you still need to burn a final chip since the rom is a temporary holding area. so you could make several changes while in car and burn the final result later that day. this is old tech. i will assume the prominator works with tunercat base program, maybe not RT.

I use Tunercat, with the Xtronics pocket programmer II.
Also using the Moates adapter, so I can still use the knock portion of my OEM prom. A few EEPROMS, and this works for me.
