Bad temp sensor?

I hear a lot of guys say that if your manifold temp sensor is bad, your car will not run correctly. I have issues with starting a cold motor and having to work the peddle until warm. If I data log with TunerPro I can see the temp of the engine. Does that info. come from the manifold temp sensor or another sensor?

There is both the coolant temp and intake/manifold temperature sensors. After sitting over night do a key on engine off and read the sensor values. They should be within a couple of degrees of each other. And be within a couple of degrees of ambient. Else something isn't right.

The IAC is the only thing that "controls" cold start. Make sure the minimum air rate has been set. If that's fine then check for a vacuum leak or sticky/dirty (or bad) IAC.

coolant temp comes from the 2 wire sensor on your intake's coolant passage. The Air Intake sensor is on the air cleaner or underside of plenum.
