check engine light

what will set it off? i am aware of sensor failure. i have all the codes at home in shop manual. did have a CEL appear on lean condition but that is easily ruled out as WB was 14/1 CL. this has happened twice now. today first ride of year. last time was a "eprom failure" per code which i believe eprom not seated. yet appeared to be. i am using a zif socket inserted into my soldered in socket in ecu. piggyback. today the engine went limp but appeared to recover. pulled the eprom and reinserted. on startup CEL was off and problem over. the new cam allows the ecu to vibrate on floor of car? do you think it best to remove the zif and order from moates a soldered in zif or are the zif's troublesome in general?

ps this chip was a reburn with more AE removed. mods done 11/2004. seems pretty good right now. will confirm when i read my WB logs this pm. i think i am just over minimum values in AE TPS and MAP by about 20% of minimum TC allows. i am not deviating from GM other than using the same % reduction for all tables as originally set up for 65 lb inj's by GM. .for reasons unk i was lead to believe my stage 1 setup needed huge PS. it did not. without WB i was peeing into the wind. i bet i was 4X over stock GM. now i think i am under stock level for 65 lb inj's.
