Newbie Needs help here..

I just got the Holley Stealth Ram Intake installed and for some reason im not seeing any times differences at the track. Someone told me that im needing to change my PROM. I have heard from many people that it is cheaper to burn your own then to send it off to get it burnt. I just need a small idea of what the TOTAL cost would be to get all the "equipment" that i need to do this. I already have a laptop i just need to know what other equipment i need to burn my own PROMS. Thanks in advance!

Read the stickies and get a handle on it. It will take a while to get into, but you won't be disappointed.
The cost for the equipment is covered by the cost of one bought chip that for the most part will not make everything run right.
check all of the options for equipment and find the items that fit your budget. Some are much nicer but not necessary to get the job done.
There are probably hundreds of "horror" stories on these boards from people who didn't think they could do it and bought a chip only to find out they wasted money and had to buy the equipment and do it anyway. those that didn't buy the stuff are probably still driving ok but not up to the full potential and have stumble, idle and surging problems. All those can be solved by you and is not easily done by mail (even with datalogs).
There is allot of info in the tuning guide. You'll just have to understand how the system works and then you're hooked like the rest of us
Just my $ 0.02
