what triggers AE-MAP?

i have been chasing my AE routine this spring. have not driven car for past 30 days as getting paint. till today. through use of WB i can see the effect of adding to AE/TPS and AE/MAP. went rich on both TPS and MAP AE per logs and a month ago removed a lot of AE and made it worse. left AE MAP tables a bit lean as was yesterday and enrichened AE TPS 50% more on values today and it appears to have helped. in neutral i can blip and i no longer get the delayed reaction. no hesitation. now it appears the current bin needs more AE MAP ?? when i accellerate slowly under a load at lower rpms the delay or hesitation is still there. if i drive aggressively seems AE is fine or improved. i will burn another and fatten up AE MAP and see results. it appears my WB log is a bit misleading. i looked at the 11/1 values on AE this spring and assumed i needed to go lean. now i think i will work up rich.

what triggers the AE MAP?

it appears when the throttle blades one i can really flow air. as i said if i do so quickly enrichment exists in AE.

i enrichened the areas in VE high map low rpm. no result i can see. i also took out fuel in same and added back in AE. no result i can see.

i also took out spark it those cells(net 15A) around idle and off idle. no result.

i am thinking when pressure falls in manifold fuel ceases to flow.

what triggers AE MAP?

Its been some time since Ive looked at the tbi specific A/E stuff, but IIRC, if there is a large enough MAP drop, then the AE routine is run. This is something like a 15 or 30 kPa delta, depending on the MAP readings. From there, the A/E values are read off the table using the delta value from the S/D MAP and delayed S/D MAP.

Dim: do you think it is somehow related to a significant drop in manifold vacuum-low rpm operation-bigger cam(6000 rpms)?

as i stated if i gas it the rpms come up which increases manifold velocity and shears off the condensed gas in manifold.

maybe this is a TBI specific problem?

OBTW it was obvious on WB that there was this spike superlean just before the AE finally arrives.
