When I hook my ALDU1 USB-to-ALDL Converter up, the engine will change idle,
When I change to a different position on the selector switch, it will run differently.
Is this correct or is there a problem with my car?
thanks
Scott

that's correct. The position that changes the idle is a 10k ohm resistor that is necessary to connect at the higher baud rate. After you get a good connection with this higher idle, change the switch to the middle position for you normal idle and the still present higher baud rate.

Ok,
thanks for the reply
Last Night I couldn't get any of the dash board components to register.
But victory this morning.
Its seems I can check all the feature that are listed.
(small victory, yeeaaa)
It also shows that the car is in closed loop mode, which would suggest that something (sensor) is not being met, and held for the required 60 seconds or so. Correct?
Its kind of running bad this morning, anyway
The temp did get up to 194 deg. but its starting to get that darn surging idle again.
man I thought I had that fixed.
what do you think?
thanks

sounds like you need to do some more reading on the basics of PROM tuning. Closed loop is a GOOD thing to achieve, not a bad thing. You only achieve it after your car has reached a certain temperature (depending on the chip and mods to chip this varies).
Yep, more reading
Oh ya, its the other way around.
Closed loop good, open Baddddd.
I also noticed it says its running Lean.
But I have a fuel pump issue.
Had to pull the tank out sunday night.
Need to replace sending unit and pump.
Thanks much
