will an auto chip work in my manual
If iwas to put an aftermarket chip for a car with an auto tranny in my t-5 car and will it work the same as one for a t-5.im not to the prom burning part yet and need a quick fix for more hp or what ever it will do for me...I can get one cheep is the reason im wondering
no one responded? i had an experience the opposite. an auto in a manual. no it did not work in that it would die when coming to a stop at 40 mph or higher. a change was made in bin and it worked fine after.

DON'T DO IT. Although an auto chip will still run on a manual car, it will be way less than optimal. The spark tables are significantly different auto to manual (there is a lot of timing pulled out at high load/low rpm in manual bins so you can launch without the car jerking forward) and the throttle follower IAC routines are also very different. Your car will drive worse with a "performance" automatic chip than a stock 5 spd chip. Save your time and money until you are going to do it right.
