Error question
I'm trying to do some tuning on my dads 92 Z28. I've been at this for awhile, and am now suddenly getting an 'Error 51: Erpom/Checksum Fail while using datamaster through my autoprom.
I did a search on here and it sounded like a bad chip. So I just burned a new chip and I get the same error.
So I burned another chip with my pocket programmer, still get the same error. So now I'm thinking it could be a bad bin, and I should just start from scratch with a fresh bin and just apply my changes to it.
I've been using both Tunercat and TunerPro (latest update) with both the autoprom and pocket programmer.
Any other things I should look for while I complile another bin?
Edit: Since this error code started, the car has a solid miss in it that wasnt' there before. I would back up to the last bin I used, but the tune was so far off do to operator error that I don't dare use it again. I haven't ruled out that it could be a mechanical issue either. I did verify that all the plug wires were tight. Plugs have about 5k on them or so. Of course the bad tune could've eaten them alive. Need to pull them and see......
Edit #2: Using AT29C256 chips..... trying to think whatelse you guys might ask me lol
Thanks

Well after doing a bit more troubleshooting, it seems the moates adapter was causing the problem. Swapped it out with the one from my car and its fine.
Miss is still there though, so I'm going to do plugs/wires this weekend..... *joy*
