TBI Chip Spacing Pics
Before i order the G2 Adaptor and some more AT29c256 chips for my TBI car i wanted to double check the spacing on my 2732a stock chips. I think they are .6" spacing chips, but i cant specify what rows i need to measure between. Here's a pic of the WIDTH of the stock chip.
Do i need to order the .6" spacing G2 adaptor?
Thanks for any help

If my memory is right here.
Key part of phrase = "if"
I believe the .6 spacing u can see the pcb thru the socket, if its the .45 its solid and u cant see the pcb behind it.
It has been posted here, might try searching various terms for it
later

There's another more foolproof way:
Take the prom out of the ecm.
Looking at the plastic socket that held the prom, see if there are 2 squares, where you can see the printed circuit board. If you can see the PCB, then you have a .6" frame.
If there are no holes/squares, and you can not see the PCB, then you have the .45" spacing.
So far I haven't seen an exception to the above.

I've personally only worked on TBI ecm's that have had .6 spacing. The .45 seem to only be on the pre-87 ecm's that had ccc and the grand nationals. Every 7747/8746 TBI ecm was .6 but I'm only 90% sure.

Thanks fella's
I dont have the ecm at the moment so i cant check for the pcb. This is a 91' RS. Ill check later tonight.

Its the standard spacing like stated above. I cant see it being anything else with a standard f-body ecm.

I have seen a few PCBs & DIP chips. All have either been .3 or .6 in width. I have never heard or seen a datasheet with a .45 DIP chip width. If anyone knows of a vendor that made a .45 DIP, please post the manufacturer.

edit: Disregard the above comment.
There are also wider than .6 , AMD made them and a lot of us earlier guys that were doing the uv erasing years ago got fooled. It didn't matter to me because I convert my ecm's to zif socket so I could use the wider chips but it wouldn't fit in a normal carrier.
