TunerPro and my ECM

i have a (8063) ECM and i want to know
(since i cant find the Definition for my ECM on Moates.net
or ftp.diy-efi.org ) Can i use some other type of Definitions and bin, since i can do my own chip burning, and without switching my calpack? What other Definitions and bin are compatible with my ECM type if any?

Check Here

There is a 8063.ecu down the page a little there, I believe it was contributed by Dimented24x7. If you're using Tunerpro4.0 it will convert the ecu to a xdf in one of the menus.

What's wrong with burning an 8063 bin? That's what you're going to want to do with your ECM, a 7747 bin with that definition will look all screwy because things will be in different places.

the way the (8063) Definition reads the (8063) bin doesn't seem right to me the tables are out of place such as the main VE and spark table, its over 50* in a lot of calms and im pretty sure you can only run 42* advance but on there they don't even look stock iv tried a few different bins too but yet no luck, iv tried 7747 Definition and bins and they are right, what im getting at is, can i switch ECM types like, lets say i have a 7747 and the car is a 8063 car, if i wanted could i just take the 8063 out and plug the 7747 in the wiring harness in place of the 8063 and go? i have both ECMs and im wounding if i can just use a 7747 type in my car,

That's odd that it doesn't read it right, maybe i'll take a look at a couple.

As far as the 7747 goes, you can use a 7747 with your harness, but I believe there are a couple hardware differences, I dont think a 7747 uses a IAT sensor. I'm not positive what the pinout differences are between the 8063 and 7747, you'd have to search around for a pinout schematic, there's probably one posted somewhere on this site. Try PM'ing Dimented24x7 with that question, I believe he hac'd the '8063 so he would most likely know.

Well, I figured I'd take a look around for ya. I found a stock 8063 bin from an 88 auto car and a modified 8063 bin. Here's what I've got: This is the ECU first...

Here's the modified bin:

With all of these files, you will have to save them to your computer and then change the ".bmp" to ".ecu" for the ECU and ".bin" for the bins.

The 8063, 7747, and 8746 are all very similar to eachother and use the exact same hardware, so the ecms are interchangable for the most part (no IAT in use in 7747). The ECU file for the 8063 should be mostly right. Its been awhile since I worked on that. I also did a hac. That will tell you pretty much exactly where all the tables are and what units are in use. Check the source code/hacs section on moates.net.

do i need IAT? and what is that? im thinking of just using the 7747 ecm, but what about the calpacks? the 7747 came out of a 4.3 v6 astro, do i just keep that then? and just burn a bin for that type of ecm?
