How do i burn these chips?
Ok- Im new at the Prom burning and for my setup, i need to order a Moates GP1 adapter and zif, this comes w/ 2 Eproms. But unlike the 27C128 which is the stock Eprom, or the 27c256 these are
27SF512's. How do i set up my program to burn these proms for my 86 IROC automatic that has a 358ci built engine in it?
The package im going to order from Moates is-
Product Description: This package is very popular. It comes with two 27SF512 chips, an 'S2' ZIF socket, and a G1 adapter! This is everything you need for TPI/etc chip adaptation. If you want different chips or different socket, just purchase the pieces separately from the other items listed.
So I dont know if i should order the adapter and the zif and then order the Atmel 256 chips separately or what?
Thanks!!!

Do a search on bin stacking.
I've never done it or I'd tell you how.
But there are two ways.
Load the bin to the correct address or stack the bin to fill the chip. I thought Craig had some info on his site?
Or is it in the help section of TP?

Z69, i think its in both places, but it seems like it was a little hard for me to understand just how to do it as i was new to Prom burning, i learned from Mark's site.

How are you going to program the chips? You will need more than the GP1. You will need a Pocket Programer of some other similar device

as far as i know the Ostrich does not plug into the ALDL connector.
it does plug into your ECM & replaces the PROM, with your laptop hooked up to it, you can change things in the bin & upload the changes to the Ostrich in real time.
you'll need a cable hooked up to your laptop to view the data stream with the Ostrich.
when i started into prom burning, i didn't have a burner or a cable, so i went with the AutoProm.
the AutoProm handles chip burning, the Ostrich can't.
the Ostrich can be left in the car & can be ran in place of the chip without a laptop hooked up to it, the AutoProm has to have a laptop hooked up & running for it to replace the chip.
both do real time emulation.
if you don't have a burner or cable yet, you may want to look into the AutoProm.
