Tuner Pro and trans flags in 6E

I am confused on the transmission flags in Tuner Pro RT. I am running 350TPI Camaro, APYN chip, 700R4.
When I am scanning or logging the first gear flag always says false, third gear always states true, 4th gear always says false, overdrive requested always states yes. The only one that changes as I feel it should is park/neutral. Can someone provide some insight? I would think all of these would change as the transmission shifts or I change position of the shifter.

there isn't anything to tell the ECM what gear the trans is in other than a fourth gear switch, on my car i seldom see a change on it for forth gear, i believe its there mostly for the ECM to release the TCC just before the trans goes into overdrive.
Park/Neutral is just a switch, its either open or grounded.
the important things are TCC & that the ECM knows when the trans is in gear or park.

Eureka! I found something

After some electrical sluething I found that the brake switch that deactivates the TCC was out of adjustment. Now the 4th gear states true when it goes into fourth, the TCC locks, first time ever!!!
The ECM commands what I think is some sort of lean cruize and the around town RPM droped significantly. Now if I could just figure our why warm open loop is such a rough idle. Anyhow one thing at a time. Thanks for your help!
