Corvette binary

Im about to get some prom tunig done. Will a corvette auto binary be to agressive for an iron headed l98 auto in terms of spark advance causing pinging/detonation? Or should it be ok?

Mods are as follows 1989 l98 bored .040, 9.5 compresion ,poretd l98 heads, slp cam 224 dur. intake @ .050 234 dur. exhaust @.050, lift .490 intake .500 exhaust, stock tpi with ported manifold and plenum, 22# injectors, edelbrock shorties with flow master 3 inch cat back, and a tci 2800 stall and 3.27 rear gears.

My opinion is "probably". But it depends on the BIN you actually get ahold of. Most of the vetts had Aluminum heads (I think maybe the 85 was the exception?) and higher compression, and did have a bit more timing.

Considering that you're starting with iron heads, you might be better off with an '89 F-bod BIN. But you're still going to be doing tuning no matter what you do, as that cam is nothing like a stock L98 cam and (if your head porting work is good) the heads aren't flowing like stock L98 heads either.
