Prominator or Chips?

What is the preferred way to program the ecm, Prominator or Flash Chip Burning? I see so much info I just can't decide!! When using the Prominator, can you use tunerpro to program or just create the bin then use prominator software to upload? Unfortunately I don't think there's any 1 best way to do it but before I spend the money I wan't to make sure it will do what I need. Also, if anyone has experience with the prominator, how to you connect to it? Through aldl or through a serial port?

Thanks.

Both...
I generally do chips, that way I have time to do my note taking. With on-the-fly it's easy to zing right past optimum.

It saves a lot of time for me to use the Prominator. Especially since you canput 8 different files on at the same time. You upload a bin file to Tunercat, modify it then download it to the position you want on the Prominator. Grumpy was right when he said it's easy to skip the notes. I've only done it once, but it was the last time I updated........ Bad Boy!!!!!

Here are my plans......

1. Drag racing at the track with open exhaust and a couple of gallons of 100 octane gas, A/F ratio lowered, more delay on the torque converter lockup to take advantage of the stall....
2. Drag racing on the street, (not that I would do that.... :-)) closed exhaust, less timing to cope with 91 octane California gas, A/F only slightly richer 'cause I don't want to jack up the cat, more delay on the torque converter lockup to take advantage of the stall........
3. Normal driving (winter) 2800 rpm stall converter set to stock specs so it cruises like a Cadillac, stock A/F ratio. Fan on setpoint 210* off 205* for use with 195* thermostat.
4. Normal driving (summer) 2800 rpm stall converter set to stock specs so it cruises like a Cadillac, stock A/F ratio. Fan on setpoint 175* off 170* for use with 160* thermostat.
5. Mod three with the A/F raised to increase mileage on long trips.
6. Mod four with the A/F raised to increase mileage on long trips. (will be checking it out to see if it makes any difference as I am taking about a 6,000 mile cruise this summer.
7. Smog!!!!
8. Valet mode

These are the plans anyway
