I need help please.... Begging here.
Here is my situation... I am recently jobless and I found out that the place that does the custom prom burning wants $350 to do the work. Well obviously I don't have that. So, here is what I am asking.... Can someone here please burn a chip for me? I am going to post this at Thirdgen also, but I am desperate. My inspection is up in 10 days and because it is running sooo rich it will not pass. I tried today. Anyway, I dont know what else to do. I can get any info that is needed to make the right chip, but I need help here... please. Otherwise "Chance" will have a spot in the driveway and I wont be around for a while.
Thanks guys...

no one can program a chip for your ecm unless you call a company like jet ( i believe they are the only ones who can do the 8063)
so, sorry. Your car shouldnt be running SO RICH with such a mild 350 anyways, do you have a catalytic converter? what is your timing set at? which injectors are you running?

Pablo, the car is running rich because the car is now equipt with cop car injectors and this is why it is running too rich. It has the wrong ecm chip for this setup and its putting out way too much pressure on these injectors. If you can help with this, then I would appreciate it..... i.e. burning new chip, otherwise, dont worry about it.

i think she definately needs to go with smaller injectors. If i were her i would just reinstall the 305 injectors seeing as how her prom calibration is setup for them and fast if you are lean across the board why dont you just increase your fuel pressure?
what type of setup do you run? I have a fairly modded 305 that is probably in the mid 14s with the stock 305 injectors at 17 psi and a custom chip and it doesnt lean out at all on me

350, generic 214/224, .442"/.465" cam, head porting, 2.5" dual exhaust w/x-over, stainless vette "headers", 3 chamber Flow's, Performer intake w/custom adapter, about 9.75:1 CR, balanced, pink rods, steel crank, 4-bolt crate motor block, 4:11 gears. In TBI forum I said why I don't want to raise the FP, works a little but too many negatives for me...

I need:
65pph injectors. I think Pablo believes yours a 65??? Maybe you can put up injector paint colors and/or part number so we can find out the pph??? I'll buy them off of you if you don't need/want them and they are what I need, if that's ok? Oh, I need a picture of you, too. Heee, heeee. Thanks for trying to help!

Oh, Pablo, about the fuel pump wear in my TBI post from raising pressure, I think my Airtex pump is only rated for 16psi regulated flow. Of course you can go more, but trust me, it'll be another $100 for a new pump in far less time than if you ran at only 11-13psi. What pump do you have? Aftermarket in-tank? I am running external. I'm funny about wires in gas/gas vapors... Plus, I like the noise for some reason.

FastBroker, the injectors are installed in my TA and they were never for sale. Im sorry about that....
I dont know what to tell you about the ECM. I still need a chip and I'm going to have to get it pretty fast. I'm going to see if I can get some input from Jaymie and Rich who installed them for me. They are 58lb injectors..... Pablo has never seen my car.
Also FastBroker, I am seeing someone... so sorry... No picture.

you are right i have never seen your car
but ive seen you say on numerous occasions "Cop car" injectors
cop car injectors are 65 lb injectors, yellow/brown stripe, end of story
and like i said 5 times allready, there is no ECU file available for your ecm. In english, you probably wont find anyone to program a chip for you because its likely no one can! The only company IVE heard of that will write a calibration for the 8063 ecm is JET. Ive seen no commercially available prom editor that has an 8063 definition file (thats like the 'decoder ring') But if you want to keep trying, by all means

Thank you Rich. I asked Jaymie today if she could mail them up ASAP so I can do the inspection. I'll see you guys soon... as soon as my friend Ron is ready to drive his vette up there.

I'm trying to figure out why your engine is even running rich for an emmissions test??? Isn't the test taken when the ECU would be in closed-loop??? The ECU should "fix" any potential rich condition. The computer BLM values will be low (below 128) which would tip-off a spart tech that you have bigger injectors in there or some other enriching problem but if they are just looking at tailpipe emmissions, your tailpipe emmissions should be ok in the closed-loop conditions of the test, right???????????? You would be rich ina cold-start situation but I don't think any state does that, yet...
Oh, I'll make the offer again, it sounds like your injectors are too big for your motor. Yes, a chip could fix that but it sounds to me like you could just install your orig injectors and be done with it. Up to you, I guess...

Her car may run OK part throttle and cruise, but WOT will be lean.

OH, That explains a lot. I thought 55's were OEM for 305, sorry. Sounds like her 45's and her 65' won't work, right? I have the 55's she can have if I can have her 65's. Pretty fair trade, I think, no?
I am using a 1227747 ECU and it can correct much more than 10%. Which ECU only corrects max of 10%??? That doesn't sound like much correction but if it's 10% max, those 65's have to go, I guess.
