wont start hot with arap
I just got the new motor running and decided to go with 6E. It runs great but if I shut it down hot it will not restart. It restarts fine with 32b. I can restart it in 6E with just a tiny shot of starter fluid or just a bit of gas in the intake. It fires up instantly when is cold. Any ideas of why the injectors are not firing. It has 49 psi at the rails. I am using tunerpro with the ostrich to tune.

See table: Crank Fuel PW vs Coolant Temp.
Raise numbers slightly in correct temp range until it starts correctly.
Be careful with ARAP and iron heads.....watch your knock counts!

No its just not getting gas. It will start with just a tiny bit of gas sprayed in the intake.

Are you holding the throttle open while cranking and adding fuel?
If so, your adding more air too.
Also, at 15, your still not adding as much fuel as a 32 bin I think.
Try 25 and see what happens. Or go back and edit your PW vs Ref pulse table.
Start comparing the differences between your 32 & 6E bins in the startup stuff.

I just compared a few for you and most of them are showing between 12-24msec from 90*-200* F* range on the $32B.
Just looked at the ARAP and its showing 8-12msec in the 90*-200* F* range.

Thanx Ill try bumping it up tonight to 20ms and raising the ref pulse table by 20% or so. Im going to also add some into the lower tables since 1-8 are blank. Whats up with that?

My guess is it lets the engine get up to crank speed first.
Notice that the PW mult. is reduced also on the 6E and later.
There's many ways to add fuel during start up.

You may have to take some fuel out with the ARAP bin. That's what i had to to do to fix my hard start when hot. It was mostly after the car had been hot, then I went and parked, and after like 30-45 minutes or so, it would crank long to start. I thought first i had leaky injectors, and car was flooding with fuel as the pressure bled off. But I found that was just normal pressure bleeding down after shutdown.
So I played with the crank fuel pulse width vs temp table, and I got it fixed. I had to back down the values when the engine was in the "warm" range.
Starts good now!
