Cool, a new tuning technique! and it works!
this is for WOT tuning http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/eps_sect2.html#wot
yes, thats a guide to tune edelbrock carbs for WOT but it also works great for FI, they tell you to pick an rpm range (i just picked the one i wanted to improve upon which was 4000-5500) and then put it in gear and go wot from 1000 rpm under the range you took or more, and with a stopwatch, time how long it takes to cover the range you chose. .do a couple of runs for an average
I read this weeks ago and thought it was sorta hokey like it wouldnt be real reliable, but believe it or not it works pretty well
my first three runs with one bin were in 2nd gear
2.66
2.79
2.72
I took note of the temps of my cyl head, and water temp ( i have both gauges)
I came home and really quick leaned out the range in places where i thought it was too rich which came out to on average about 4% and at most 5% in one spot
Came back out, got the temps about the same
and then ran
2.53
2.50
2.53
kick *** stuff, its just surprising to me the stopwatch technique is decently accurate
Ill go out again later and try to do better than this current chip (course ill get another baseline) because im out of gas now
