So who has been able to take PROM burning a step further?

What I mean is, has anyone been able to delete functions and error codes, while still allowing the ECM to control in closed loop?

My quest is to convert to TPI when I drop the smallblock into my '59 or '57...I'd like to eliminate some things I don't feel are necessary.

Yep, thats possible. Depends on what your PROM program allows. "Off-Road Use Only" chips have the smog controls and error codes removed. A friend of mine just got one for his 92 Z28 road race car.

Yes kevin, I know it's possible...but would you have any knowledge of Editors that show/decipher the full EPROM? Not just the fuel and spark maps?

I understand that using DFI will allow this, but it's kinda costly....

yeah, any program can see everything thats been hacked. With winbin you simply edit the ecu file in notepad, with tunercat you use the tuner editor. Whichever it is, all you need to know is the adress and type of table it needs to be which is in the hack

most ecu files available are allready complete enough and provide those options allready though, no big deal. I have egr disabled in mine for example and can shut off closed loop if i wish

Pablo, so you're saying that all fuctions in the chip come up in the TunerCat editor?

This might work, I could download my current EPROM, take out what i don't want, and start with it's fuel and spark maps....
