Software

Which do you think is the best software to edit my Bin file? I have Winbin and a demo copy of tuner cat & Gmepro. All three look like they are good programs. Winbin looks like it is missing some files (The files that had not been hacked) Tuner cat looks very well but I figured up the cost and it is a little pricey. Gmepro looks good to and very easy to understand. I have another one called promedit I can not figue it out at all. I don't have a lot of money to spend on software, but I want to get best software for the buck. Editing bins is a little new to me and a harder than writing ladder logic, I write and modfiy ladder programs just about every day. Is there any shareware out there that you would suggest for a diagnostic tool? I have one I downloaded off the internet called Aldl test. I am working on a cable, just waiting on some parts to arrive. The engine is a 350 with a factory grind 327cid/350hp camshaft.

First read this post as it addresses BIN editors.....

Which is the best/preferred Prom editor program to use for the 85-89 (165) ECM?

As far as scan tools - personally, I use Diacom ... because I got it for free But, check out CarChat on the diy-efi FTP site. I downloaded it and it looks pretty nice for a free program.

Allright, another ladder logic programmer! What kinds of stuff do you program? I'm lucky enough to be in a shop that uses SLCs exclusively, although there are a couple PLC-2s I haven't had to mess with yet.

Ever think of using a SLC-500 in place of a car's ECM? Its not as crazy as it sounds, the "Samson" monster truck uses micrologic controllers for all its equipment, its actually an A-B sponsored truck!

AB PLC5 SLC 500-505 ethernet and micro logic,
Toshiba,Seimens, omron and many others. I do relay to floating point to control batch systems to whole line operations. A person could write a program to control the spark and fuel delivery on a TPI,but it would very expensive.

I tied the two links you gave me and neither one was working. Have they moved?
