Is there a NEW ECU for my 1986 IROC?

Hey all, i recall reading somewhere that GM released a new ECU for my model/year of car. 1986 IROC Camaro, LB9 305 TPI "F".

I was wondering if anyone had the part number for the new one, if this is true. might want to pick one up if it's not too expensive.

That would be a 16198259.
Dunno, if really worth it thou. Functionally it has to be the same, exactly the same.
I do always keep a spare or two for whatever I'm curently running. Thou I've only had one go back and that was after changing proms over 400x and wore the scoket out on a 747......

They did not releas a new ECU...but they did release a recalibrated chip to get rid of phantom code 36's and a couple other things....IMO it is worth it.....
