SES light...

What's normal operation for the SES light? Is it supposed to come on when you turn the key to the "on" position and then go off after you crank the car and it starts?

Now that is a short, but brief answer...right to the point.

I have also noticed that when I hook my computer up to the ALDL and have the computer connected but NOT operating with Diacom, that I will get a serious of quick flashes of the SES light when the engine first starts. It has ALWAYS done this since I have had Diacom and consider it normal. It has absolutely no affect on my scanning of the ecm and does not cause a "trouble code" to appear.
