Running the $8D on the 165 ECM

Does anyone have an $8D AUJP bin that they converted to run on the 165 ECM (1986-1989)?

I don't want a bin. I was just wondering if it has already been done.

I doubt it. I think the hardware is different enough that you would need to rewrite a ton of things to make it work. I do know there are quite a few guys running the holden (think its $5D?) code which is MAP based, and used on the '808, which is the '165 without the 8192 baud chip in it.

I kind of figured that, but I was putting it out there to see if any one else was interested in working on it.

I talked to a few guys that are running the Holden code. I like the $8D code better though.

Patch in the stuff that you like from the 8D to the Holden code.

GM may have done it for you. I picked up a 1992 AWD Astro van ECM (PN 16156647), and it uses broadcast code BCBC1250. It sure looks like a 165 ECM, and the code looks similar to $8D. The code ID is $D5.

Just need to know if the 16156647 and 165 are compatible, or at least near compatible. If near compatible, it would prbably be easy to get it to run in a 165.
