Okay I have a 92RS with a LO3. I was considering doing this mod

https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...rpentine.shtml

my question is removing the smog that would throw a code correct? Would it hurt my car/cars performace to do that? Could I program a chip take it out? I'm sorry I'm very new to the idea, please bare with me. Thanks guys!!!

Josh

Spyder,

No problem. I did this same mod a couple years ago. No codes. Everything is AOK.

Gunning for NA 11's with bigger cam, bigger stall, and bigger exhaust.

Really did you notice any more power out of the deal?

If you have problems finding the right belt, tell them it is for a 1993 Chevy C1500; 350; No A.I.R.
I swapped out my trucks TBI for a TPI system. Also had to use the 92 F-Body s-belt setup. My kit did not come with a new belt, so I just tried my trucks belt and it fit nicely.

The only reason that I removed emissions stuff is because it is in the way. If GM would have designed a system that wasn't in my way when I had to work on the car then I would have left everything intact. So - no power difference - but A LOT easier to work on your car.

Humm, I'm getting sick of all the crap that is in my engine bay, another guy on here has a way to bypass the AC to. I wanna pull all of it.. I just want "the motor" thats it. I don't want to have to start a crash course in Prom Buring.. For some odd reason when you need it, you can't do it.

my tests on V-belt cars show 5hp from removing it. No data on serpentine...didn't feel it was important since I know it helps to remove it.
