Ram Jet Computer

Is AS&M the only company that can re-program this Ram Jet computer for my new Fast-Burn head/LT4HOT cam combo?? I called Ed Wright and they cannot do it. Any comments good or bad about AS&M?

AZS&M do very good work and charge very high prices. TO add closed loop to the Ramjet 350, they charge $475 and the only hardware you get is an O2 sensor and weld in bung. They are the only ones I've heard that reprogram the RamJet. I have asked on this board and no one has done it themselves....Yet!

Personally I cannot see why the 730 ecm could not be made to work with the Ramjet. They both are speed density systems. To the 730 it would just require working on the VE tables etc like swapping to a Miniram with a different cam and heads.

For the $475 that AS&M wants, you could buy all the equipment for that.

The RamJet uses GM's MEFI3 controller. it is the same controller that is used on the port injection marine engines than Indmar and others build. All I know is that the controller does not use a oxygen sensor and therefore cannot do any closed loop compensation. I know that Rinda's web site shows a Diacom package that can be used with the MEFI# controller and that they sell software to the engine builders for calibration purposes. I wish there was more information available, I have been working on MasterCraft that uses the 93 MEFI on a TBI. I would like to re-program, but am having trouble finding the info.

I agree that the '730 would be an excellent choice for use with the Ramjet intake.

When I called AS&M, they told me it would be $350. THey have already done some of these MEFI computers to work with the Fast burn/LT4 Hot Cam combo. I guess they are the ones that did the work for Scoggin Dickey's Ram Jet 430 that they sell for like 9000 bones. I am pretty sure that they dont use the closed loop system at all. I.E., no O2 sensor. I could be wrong.

Yes it's the MEFI
Yes there is a closed loop option.
Yes folks are working on cracking it.
Uses a very different tuning strategy
It's Flash
I know of no co I'd spend money with to have them tune it for me. Anyone one remember Carprom?. Supposed for $1200 *they* would give you a password to a bullentin board and anwer any prom guestion, ya right, hahahahahaha.
