ECM Rev Limiter

I'm trying to set a rev limiter in my ECM. I have a '92 Z28 with a 350 and a 730 ECM that I have been playing with. I would like to set up a rev limiter around 6000 RPM. The 730 ECM file I have lists the RPM cutoff as two bytes at location 0x3F5 and the return as two bytes at 0x3F8. Both have a factor of 92.660194.

First of all, Winbin V1.4 seems to have a bug when editing these values. When set the raw value to 0x1A, it actually put 0x1A1A into the two bytes. I modified the ECM file to list the values as single bytes at 0x3F6 and 0x3F9 to get around this. Has anyone else seen this problem?

To test the rev limiter, I made a test ROM with the cutoff around 2400 RPM and return around 1900 RPM. The SES light stays on with this ROM and the engine won't run very long (the car won't run in limp home mode anymore). I've burned plenty of other ROMs for this car, so I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the chip, it ECM just doesn't like the change.

Has anyone else setup a rev limiter in the ECM? Is the correction factor I'm using wrong or is the location wrong? Any input is appreciated.
