APYP Disassembly Problems

Hi Everyone,

I am new to the board and have really enjoyed reading the posts. Too much information to absorb!

Working on learning how to disassemble properly with the m6811dis tool.

Having problems getting rid of some "lumps". The address is 0xCC35.

Also having problems with "undetermined branch address". The address locations are 0xCC15 and 0xFAB5.

Could one of the experts help me by looking over the "DIS" file and the "control" file. The help would be much appreciated.

My goal is to understand how the code works.

Thanks,

Bruce

We have been working with a commented source code that will show you much more than a new disassembly.
Go to Moates.net file section under hacs.
Look for 6E. Would be betterto expand on what is already done to further everyones knowledge.
Read in the current wide band thread to see what files and things you need to reassemble it and run.
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/diy-...ml#post2980014

Look in the tuning guide stick for "Source code for dummys Ask questions here" thread. Much talk of the lumps and stuff.
Most of the time the undetermined addresses are from indexed jumps.
No way for the code to know what would have been in the X register at the time of assembly. Don't over do the control file.
I found that was my biggest problem when doing the AUJP.bin

Yep, CC32 are addresses of the loops in the code. Its data so it should remain a lump.
CC15 and FAB5 are indexed JSR.
Assembler/Disassembler can't tell where they would go.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I have looked at the FAQ section. So much information. Very easy to get lost.

Been to the Moates Website and downloaded many HACK files.

I choose the $6E code to test the disassembly/assembly because so much information exists.

Presently utilizing the $32B code. Tuned the various "known" variables.

Starting to think a good understanding of the code may ease the "trial and error" tuning process.

I will certainly contribute to this board if the opportunity exists. My experience is not up to par with many on this board.

Thanks Again,

Bruce
