On a 165 memcal, I can't see how the Eprom is soldered in the memcal. It looks as though it's all one piece. Do you pry the eprom up first? I'm attempting to install a ZIF socket.

I used a exacto knife to cut the solder. That worked great on the stock memcal. If you follow the pins coming down from the prom and into the memcal you can see where the solder is (it is very thin).
Also if you can get a hold of an ADS or Hypercrap memcal the chip will pop right off if you pry lightly.
