Do I Need A Custom Chip to Run 24# Injectors?
Just curious... I got the car back together and I am currently tuning it, but I have a dead spot in acceleration (right at beginning) as well as a surging idle and the SES light only comes on when I am below 1700 RPM. My sig explains all modifications.
Also, I lost some bottom end grunt - would going back to a stock TB replace some low end power?

What you need to do is read Traxion's article that linked at the top of every DIY PROM page, read as many of the previous topics on this board as you can, read the article again, then buy the equipment and burn your own chips. You really need a custom-burned PROM for your combination, but the only way it'll be done right is if you do it yourself.
Now to directly answer your questions. Yes, you need change the injector constant in the chip to match the flow rate of your injectors. If you bought the Ford SVO injectors, then they actually flow about 26 #/hr at the stock pressure TPI usually runs at (low 40's). The off-idle dead spot is because your engine is sucking in a lot more air and needs a much-biggger "pump shot", aka acceleration enrichment. What SES code are you getting? Replacing the TB won't gain you back any low end power, but tuning up your VE tables and adding some low-end spark advance will help tremendously, as well as a higher-stall torque converter.
