BLM's are stuck at 150!

I have my BLM's set to a max of 150, and thats where they're staying at idle. That should mean the VE tables arent providing enough fuel. So I raised the tables 10%, 20%, and even 30%. The injector pulse width at idle was up to 3.5 ms at one point, yet the BLM's were still stuck at 150 at idle! I can rev the engine up to 2000+ RPMs before the BLM will come down from 150, it'll go to about 145, down to 140, down to 135 as I raise the RPMs higher. The integrator is staying at 128. Whats going on????

Sounds like they (BLM's) are "locked" at the highest possible value.

You could have a bad O2 sensor, low fuel pressure, low-flowing injectors (clogged injectors or clogged injector screens), bad fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, bad VE tables, some other custom PROM errors in EGR or some other VE related area.

Was it always like this or just started. I'lla ssume it just started and that you have some sort of physical/sensor/fuel malfunction. If you are just checking the BL's for the first time, it may have always been that way... Either way, you're gonna be real happy with the car once you get it fixed.

Kevin,
Join the club man. I did the swap over to SD and found that it needs alot of tuning of the VE tables, ALOT. But WELL worth it!, i love it.
Just go reread traxs P730 part throttle tuning article and reread it about 6 times. Then you will have a good understanding of what needs done.
Lock the BLM to 128(lock the max and min to 128 basically). That way you only have to tune the integrator(thanks for the help Glenn!).
After reading the P730 article that i mentioned you should be able to get things down pat. It will take some times, days or weeks to get it right.

Anyone know how to lock the BLM to 128 using Tunercat software? In particular, the $6E TDF cal file. I noticed that you SD guys have that option.

Thanks!!

I think this started after I swapped from stock TPI 22lbs injectors to stock LT1 24lbs injectors. I have the injector constant set to 23.9lbs. There was some concern about the sequential-fire LT1 injectors being not quite right for batch-fire TPI.

Kevin,
To solve the idle problem your having you do not want to increase the entire table, it takes tuning of the different columns.

Mike, I have just started playing with the 6E.TDF and I've noticed a lot of things missing (that's okay, I will be firing off some revisions to TunerCat on the 6E).

But you need to define the Min/Max on the 6E using TunerCat TDF Editor. TDF Editor is available for a 30 Day trial period and you just add the Constants for the BLM Min/Max to the Constant table.

I've stated the location address in a previous Post (regarding MAF and Highway Mode if I recall). Just search for "BLM" or look for a post on Highway Mode for the MAF car. I state the address location (Plus a ton of other questions you'll probably have that have already been answered before that you haven't even thought of).

On the other hand, you can contact TunerCat and ask for "6EX.TDF" submitted by Glenn which contains the BLM Max/Min constants (plus some other revisions I think are useful). They should have it available on Monday.

I only raised the point where it idles (800 RPMs and 40 KPA and the area around this point) not the whole table.
