For those that helped on 7730 Conversion UPDATE

Thanks to all those on the list that have helped. Dennis, I moved the serial pin to terminal M on the ALDL and loaded in a 92 Camaro bin (thanks Brent!) and Diacom links percfect WITHOUT the tpi adapter. I'm now in business I'm planning on creating a document to detail the 165 to 730 swap in an 89 Corvette since they are a little different than the F-body. With help from Don Rudolph (a non list member) I was able to use my 89 knock sensor by using a small 4.3K resistor to ground. Thanks to Dennnis for describing how to use the MAF signal wire and TPS +5volts ref and ground for the MAP sensor so no wires are pulled through the dash. To me taking my exsisting ECM pins and populating the 730 connectors was easier than using the adaptor. I think my limited soldering skills caused a short that ruined the first ECM. This conversion can easily be done over a weekend.

Thanks to Glenn for helping me with getting the 29C256 proms to work correctly. Now programming the memcal takes less than a minute. Thanks to Trax for creatign the first P730 article that gave me the confidance to tackle MAP tuning (Hey we need more articles!)and for the AFR modifier program. Also thanks to Mike Davis for creating a website that made this conversion a heck of alot easier.

Now that I'm off and running let the tuning begin. My first 10 second Diacom (just to test to see if it was working)showed a KPA of 54 at about 900 RPM. It is also obvious that more pump shot fuel is needed 9 a problem I chased for months with the miniram and the 165.

Wish me luck everyone. I'll be back before too long with more questions I'm sure. Oh and thanks to Grumpy....well for being grumpy.
